Job summary

United States Digital Space LLC is seeking a senior architect to lead a secure, scalable pilot from a fully remote location. The initial month is a fast-paced, full-time build, followed by a lighter ongoing role (~8 hours/week) to maintain and grow the system.

You will insist on security, require human sign-off for sensitive outputs, and document decisions, risks, and next steps to ensure a safe, verifiable deployment.

Qualifications

• Senior-level experience in solution, enterprise, integration, platform, or security architecture.
• Proven track record building AI-enabled workflows, case/work-management systems, or automated systems with audit trails.
• Strong knowledge of identity/access management, data protection, and least-privilege design.
• Experience building secure systems for multiple clients or organizations without mixing their data.
• Comfortable using AI tools to assist analysis and design—yet you verify the work personally.
• Excellent communication skills to explain technical decisions to executives.

Responsibilities

• Understand the problem deeply before starting to build.
• Design the full system — verification, protection, connectivity, and tracking.
• Build in approval checkpoints so sensitive outputs require human sign-off.
• Launch a working pilot with monitoring, backups, and proof of concept.
• Review the team's work and redirect anything unsafe or incomplete.
• Document decisions, risks, and next steps.
