Job summary

United States Digital Space LLC is seeking a platform security engineer to advance workload identity and secure internal services at scale. You will reduce toil by replacing static secrets with short-lived credentials and drive adoption across teams.

Ideal candidates bring 5+ years in security-focused infrastructure, Kubernetes familiarity, and strong collaboration with engineering. This role supports a fully remote setup in the US with opportunities to influence enterprise-ready authentication

Qualifications

5+ years of experience in software engineering, with a focus on security-related platform, infrastructure, or distributed systems.
Strong working knowledge of secrets management, fine-grained authorization, and workload identity systems.
Familiarity with the Kubernetes ecosystem and authentication/authorization technologies such as JWTs, X.509 certificates, PKI, cert-manager, SPIFFE/SPIRE, and OPA.

Responsibilities

Build workload identity infrastructure and make short-lived identity credentials a default part of every application's runtime environment.
Bring identity-based authentication to internal services and drive migration of existing ones.
Eliminate static secrets and rotate managed credentials across external dependencies.
Unify authorization through a central interface and policy framework.
