Job summary
BlackCube Labs is seeking a Senior Test Automation Engineer to architect the test infrastructure for a crypto payment platform, supporting custody, AML, and settlement across existing and new platforms. You will deliver vendor mocks, fast CI feedback, reliable test suites, and usable tooling to make testing cheap and confident across squads.
Remote role with overlap requirements; expertise in TypeScript, Playwright, contract testing, and API mocking is essential.
Qualifications
- 5+ years as software engineer with test infrastructure ownership.
- Strong TypeScript across backend and test automation.
- Experience building test frameworks from scratch.
- Hands-on with Playwright or modern automation framework.
- Ability to design CI/CD test stages, parallel tests.
- Experience API testing and mocking third-party services.
- Proficiency with AI coding tools.
- Understanding crypto, stablecoin flows to learn on the job.
- Excellent written and spoken English.
Responsibilities
- Design and build stateful mocks and simulators of vendor APIs.
- Implement contract tests against vendor sandboxes.
- Build test data and environment tooling with one-command environments.
- Own the CI test pipeline with fast feedback and nightly runs.
- Eliminate flaky tests via quarantine and root-cause analysis.
- Create test-writing scaffolding and templates for AI-assisted tests.
- Coach engineers on writing effective tests and reviews.
- Build production-adjacent checks and synthetic transactions.
