Job summary

Cyclops is seeking a Senior Test Automation Engineer to build the test infrastructure for a crypto payment platform, enabling cheap and confident testing across current and new platforms. You will design mocks, develop contract tests, and own the CI pipeline while coaching teams on effective testing and AI-assisted patterns.

Remote role with overlaps across EU/USA and other regions; 5+ years in testing ownership and strong TypeScript experience are required, with crypto knowledge welcomed as

Qualifications

• 5+ years as software engineer with test-infrastructure ownership (SDET or similar).
• Strong TypeScript skills used in backend services and test automation.
• Experience building test frameworks from scratch and harnesses.
• Hands-on with Playwright or a modern automation framework.
• Experience designing CI/CD test stages (GitLab CI) with parallelization.
• API testing and mocking of third-party services.
• Ability to review AI-generated code quickly and critically.
• Crypto experience is optional; mandatory crypto understanding on the job.

Responsibilities

• Design and build stateful mocks and simulators of third‑party vendor APIs for current and new platforms.
• Implement contract tests that run on schedule against real vendor sandboxes.
• Build test data and environment tooling with one-command environments.
• Own the CI test pipeline with fast feedback and nightly/integration suites.
• Eliminate flaky tests through quarantine, statistics, and root-cause analysis.
• Create test-writing scaffolding and templates for AI-assisted test generation.
• Coach engineers on writing effective tests via reviews and pairing.
• Build production-adjacent checks and post-deploy smoke tests.
