Job summary

Syms Strategic Group (SSG) is seeking a talented Software Developer in Test (SDET) for a fully remote role with the Veterans Affairs (VA) department. Strong programming skills in C#, .NET, Java, or Python are required.

You will develop and execute test plans, write test cases and scripts, and lead verification activities to ensure quality across information systems and APIs. This 100% U.S.-based remote position requires eligibility for a Public Trust clearance.

Qualifications

• Strong programming skills in languages such as C#, .NET, Java, or Python.
• Proven track record on complex software projects with high-quality deliverables.
• Experience in both manual and automated testing.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and SDLC understanding.
• Proficiency in writing and executing test cases, test scripts, and test plans.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute test plans, test cases, and test procedures to ensure information systems meet standards.
• Develop test plans, test schedule, and approach.
• Write test cases and scripts and identify data for test scenarios.
• Conduct walkthroughs with Test Managers, Requirement Leads, and Project/Development Leads.
• Perform and lead tests of software/IT systems to ensure proper operation and defect-free results.
• Document and communicate test results; support issue resolution.
