Job summary

GovCIO is hiring a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to join cross-functional product teams building and modernizing federal digital services on AWS GovCloud. The role is fully remote within CONUS and emphasizes automation-first testing, test planning, and quality ownership.

Responsibilities include designing test strategies, building automated suites, and validating data across PostgreSQL and other stores. Candidates should have 2–5 years of relevant experience and full U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with 2–5 years of experience in software testing.
• Experience designing and executing automated tests in web apps.
• Proficiency with REST API testing and data validation (Postman scripts or similar).
• Strong scripting in Python; comfortable with SQL for data verification.

Responsibilities

• Designs, develops, and implements testing methods to ensure product meets specifications.
• Builds and maintains automated test suites; integrates into CI/CD pipelines.
• Runs functional, regression, API, and end-to-end tests across sprints.
• Audits tests, ensures coverage, and reports defects and metrics.
• Supports UAT, security reviews, and 508 compliance efforts.
