GovCIO is hiring a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to join cross-functional teams building federal digital services on AWS GovCloud. This fully remote CONUS role emphasizes automation-first testing, including functional, regression, end-to-end, and performance testing across API, UI, and ML components.

You will design tests from user stories, maintain traceability, and report test metrics daily.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required with 2-5 years of experience or commensurate experience.
• Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
• Experience in test automation; Cypress/Playwright preferred; Selenium not sufficient.
• Must reside within CONUS; remote work acceptable.
• Experience with automated REST API testing (Postman or scripted tests).
• SQL for data validation; Python for scripting.

Responsabilités

• Design, develop, and implement testing methods and equipment to ensure product performance.
• Create and test plans, scenarios, and test cases; report defects.
• Build and maintain automated test suites; integrate into CI/CD with DevOps.
• Conduct regression, functional, API, and end-to-end tests; monitor test metrics.
• Perform root cause analysis; ensure coverage and quality increases over time.
• Prepare daily Jira updates and write own user stories and tasks.
