Job summary

GovCIO is hiring a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to join cross-functional teams building and modernizing federal digital services on AWS GovCloud. This role is in the Continental United States (CONUS) and fully remote.

The SDET will own quality from refinement, design and execute automated tests, and maintain test suites using Cypress and Playwright, with API testing and CI/CD integration on AWS GovCloud. U.S. citizen or permanent resident status required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 2-5 years of experience.
• U.S. citizen or permanent resident; must reside in CONUS.
• Experience with test automation frameworks (Cypress or Playwright).
• Automated REST API testing with Postman or scripted tests.
• SQL for data validation; Python for test scripting.

Responsibilities

• Designs, develops, and implements testing methods and equipment to ensure product performance.
• Plans test cases and creates test scenarios; reports defects and problems.
• Builds and maintains automated test suites; integrates in CI/CD with DevOps on AWS GovCloud.
• Designs positive and negative tests: functional, integration, regression, API, E2E.
• Monitors test metrics and improves processes through failure analysis.
