Job summary

Pearson is seeking evaluators to score teacher licensure artifacts remotely across Early Childhood, Elementary, and Special Education programs.

Scorers evaluate artifacts, follow scoring standards, and participate in consensus discussions. Training is provided. Requirements include educator certification or related higher education teaching experience and a commitment to confidentiality. This is a part-time remote position.

Qualifications

• Hold an educator certification, have at least three years of teaching experience, and be teaching or have taught within the last three years;
• or be an instructor in an institution of higher education who, in the last three years, has taught classes corresponding to the field;
• or have continuing experience as a scorer in the content field after having met one of the above qualifications;
• OR be a National Board-Certified Educator;

Responsibilities

• Evaluate artifacts submitted by teacher candidates
• Internalize scoring standards, participate in discussions, and engage with other scorers in consensus scoring activities
• Recognize and discuss various types of bias and effect strategies to reduce personal biases in scoring
• Meet quality and productivity requirements established for the scoring program, including passing a qualifying test before scoring
