Job summary

Pearson is seeking remote scorers to evaluate teacher candidates across multiple subjects including Dance, Digital Literacy & Computer Science, History, Music, Technology Engineering, and Theater. A bachelor’s degree with teaching certification and recent public school experience is required, or equivalent college/university faculty or active graduate teaching roles.

Starting rate is $17.50 per hour with remote work.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher and current teaching certification in subject area and public school experience in the subject area.
• Alternative: college/university faculty member preparing candidates for the subject.
• Alternative: bachelor’s/master’s degree and graduate student currently teaching the subject.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate responses to test questions by Massachusetts teacher candidates.
• Internalize scoring standards, participate in discussions, and engage with other scorers in consensus scoring activities.
• Recognize various bias types and discuss strategies to reduce personal biases in scoring.
• Meet quality and productivity requirements for the scoring program, including passing a qualifying test.
