Job summary

Pearson is recruiting evaluators to score teacher licensure content remotely for the Malta, NY and broader US programs. Candidates must hold relevant teaching credentials or content-area degrees with recent related work and meet basic computer and confidentiality requirements.

Starting rate is $17.50 per hour, with sessions conducted Monday–Friday and occasional training. This position offers remote work with consistent scheduling and no on-site requirement.

Qualifications

• Current teaching certification in the subject area and recent teaching experience (last 3 years).
• Or have been educators from colleges/universities who taught or advised a content area in last 3 years.
• Or hold a degree in the content area with professional employment in the content area within last 3 years.
• Both active and recently retired practitioners can be eligible to score.
• Basic computer skills (keyboard, mouse).
• Ability to sit for extended periods.
• Ability to maintain a confidential work environment.
• Eligible to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate responses to test questions by New York teacher candidates.
• Internalize scoring standards, participate in discussions, and engage with other scorers in consensus scoring activities.
• Recognize and discuss various types of bias and implement strategies to reduce personal biases in scoring.
• Meet quality and productivity requirements for the scoring program, including passing a qualifying test before scoring.
• Work remotely for scoring sessions and training.
