Job summary

Pearson is seeking an ES Oklahoma Scoring Assistant to remotely score Oklahoma exams for our Sacramento, California office. Qualified candidates include active or recently retired educators who hold the appropriate teaching credential and have taught recently, with residency in Oklahoma or California.

Sessions run Monday–Friday from 8:00am to 4:00pm PST, typically one day per session, five times a year. Training and review are provided, with flexible scheduling to fit availability.

Qualifications

• Education credentials required: teaching credential corresponding to content field.
• Must have taught within last three years or be a faculty member teaching related courses.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree and be a graduate student currently teaching in field.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates responses of teacher candidates.
• Internalizes training and scoring guide.
• Participates in discussions and consensus scoring.
• Applies rubric requirements without personal bias.
• Meets quality and productivity targets for scoring.
• Engages with other scorers during consensus scoring.

Job Title: ES Oklahoma Scoring Assistant

Qualifications Both active and recently retired educators may be eligible to score, provided they meet one of the following qualification goals.

A scorer must:

• Hold a teaching credential corresponding to the content field, AND
• Be teaching or have taught within the last three years at the appropriate grade level.
• Or serve or have served as a faculty member teaching courses taken by students enrolled in a teacher preparation program or district internship program.
• Or hold a bachelor’s and/or master’s degree AND be a graduate student currently teaching courses in the content field

Key benefits

• Rate at $17.50/hour.

• All work is conducted Monday through Friday between 8:00am-4:00pm PST.

Overall Responsibilities

• Evaluates responses of teacher candidates.
• Successfully internalizes training and scoring guide.
• Participate in discussions.
• Must be able to put aside personal biases and apply scoring guide according to rubric requirements.
• Meets quality and productivity requirements established for the scoring program.
• Engage with other scorers in consensus scoring activities.

• Be a resident of Oklahoma or California with eligibility to work in the United States.
• Have basic computer skills (keyboard, mouse).
• Have the ability to meet via online meetings using a personal computer with web camera, microphone, and speakers.
• Have the ability to sit for extended periods of time.
