Job summary

Pearson is seeking an Associate, Scoring Services to score teacher licensure content remotely for New York candidates. The role offers part-time hours, a 8:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m. window, and a starting rate of $17.50 per hour. Training is provided before scoring begins, with occasional orientation meetings.

Qualifications include a current teaching certificate or recent related teaching experience, or a content-area degree with relevant employment. U.S. work eligibility is required.

Qualifications

• Current teaching certification in the subject area and recent teaching in schools.
• Educators from colleges/universities who taught or advised a content-relevant field within the last three years.
• Hold a degree in the content area with recent professional employment in the field.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate responses to test questions by New York teacher candidates.
• Internalize scoring standards and participate in discussions with other scorers in consensus scoring.
• Recognize and discuss bias types and strategies to reduce personal biases in scoring.
• Meet quality and productivity requirements for the scoring program, including passing a qualifying test before scoring.
