Job summary

ISHE is seeking contract/freelance substantive scientific editors for part-time remote work. You will edit grant proposals and manuscripts in STEM/public health, providing developmental editing and thoughtful comments on early drafts.

Requirements include 2–5+ years of editing, a PhD or equivalent, familiarity with NIH/NSF/DoD processes, and the ability to meet tight deadlines. Remote role with US-based preferred; compensation is $85 per hour.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years of scientific editing experience.
• Superior written communication skills.
• Provide 2-3 references.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality and thoughtful comments and guidance on early versions of grant applications.
• Provide high-quality and thoughtful in-depth substantive scientific editing on grant applications.
• Turn in documents with high-quality comments or edits, even on short turnarounds (e.g., within 48 business hours of receipt)
