Job summary

CareerVolt is seeking contract/freelance professionals to join our team as part-time, substantive scientific editors. You should be experienced (2-5+ years) and able to provide substantive and developmental editing services on scientific (technical) grant proposals and manuscripts.

Position requires 2-5 years of editing, a PhD or equivalent in STEM/public health, and familiarity with NIH/NSF/DoD processes. Remote work is allowed, with fast turnarounds and references required.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years of scientific editing experience.
• PhD or equivalent degree in a STEM or public health field.
• Familiarity with NIH/NSF/DoD funding application processes.
• Superior written communication skills.
• Provide 2-3 references.
• Candidates based in US preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality and thoughtful comments and guidance on early versions of grant applications.
• Provide high-quality and thoughtful in-depth substantive scientific editing on grant applications.
• Turn in documents with high-quality comments or edits, even on short turnarounds (e.g., within 48 business hours of receipt).
