Job summary

Stride, Inc. is seeking a full-time School Counselor for its K12 Private Academy, a virtual program open to residents of all 50 states and Washington, D.C.

The counselor will support student academic success, social-emotional development, and college planning, with a typical 40-hour workweek and an emphasis on independent work from a home office. Required qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree and three years of counseling/advisement experience; a School Counselor License is preferred, and

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and three years of counseling/advisement experience.
• School Counselor License preferred.
• Ability to clear required background check.
• Experience with distance learning.
• Advanced coursework in counseling and administration.

Responsibilities

• Helps all students plan for postsecondary options (enroll in education, enlist in military, or enter workforce).
• Delivers classroom instruction based on student success standards.
• Reviews transcripts and academic documentation for new and returning students.
• Develops a four-year graduation plan with staff and audits candidacy for graduation.
• Assists students in course placement including AP recommendations and pathways.
• Analyzes student data to develop data-driven intervention plans.
• Provides short-term counseling and referrals for long-term support.
