Job summary

Stride, Inc. is seeking a School Counselor for its K12 Private Academy program. This full-time, remote position supports students' academic success, social development, and college planning in a virtual environment.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree and three years of counseling experience; state school counselor certification is preferred. Travel up to 20% may be required for meetings and professional development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree AND three years of counseling/advisement experience.
• School Counselor License Preferred.
• Ability to clear required background check.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Web-based search engines, and database systems.

Responsibilities

• Helps all students: Plan for postsecondary options (enroll in education, enlist in military option, employ in work force).
• Focuses students and families on college and career readiness.
• Meets quarterly with all students on caseload to review graduation plan and post-secondary options.
• Delivers classroom instruction based on student success standards.
• Reviews transcripts and other academic documentation for new and returning students.
• Works with staff to develop a four-year graduation plan and audits schedules for candidacy for graduation.
• Assist students in course placement including AP and pathways to enrich learning opportunities.
• Analyzes student data and develops data-driven intervention plans.
• Provides short-term counseling and referrals for long-term support as necessary.
• Supports testing, parent education, and staff development.
• May advocate for students at IEP meetings and other student-focused meetings.
• Travel up to 20% for face-to-face professional development and testing as required.
