Job summary

Stride, Inc. is hiring a School Counselor for its K12 Private Academy in a fully virtual, full-time role. The position is open to residents nationwide, with duties focusing on student academic success, social and emotional development, and career planning.

The counselor collaborates with teachers, reviews transcripts, and develops a four-year graduation plan while providing counseling and referrals. Travel up to 20% for development is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required and licensure preferred.
• Master’s degree in school counseling preferred.
• Experience with distance learning.
• Experience in a customer service environment.
• Experience with Local, State, and Federal laws and mandated reporting.
• Experience in a charter school environment preferred.
• Experience with state career planning systems, Pathfinder, or other tools.

Responsibilities

• Plan for postsecondary options.
• Apply academic achievement strategies.
• Focus on college and career readiness with families.
• Meet quarterly with all students on caseload.
• Review transcripts and other academic documentation for new and returning students.
• Develop a four-year graduation plan and audit student schedules for candidacy for graduation.
• Analyze student data and develop data-driven intervention plans.
• Provide short-term counseling and referrals for long-term support.
• Support standardized testing and parent education.
• Advocate for students at IEP meetings and other student-focused meetings.
• Travel up to 20% for face-to-face professional development or as required by the school.
