Job summary

Cartwheel is seeking a Mental Health Therapist to join our interdisciplinary care team. You will work with school staff, students, and families to build stronger systems of mental health support through teletherapy across U.S. partner districts.

This 1099 independent contractor role requires a Master’s degree in a relevant field and an active PA license. Flexible hours include after-school times, with strong emphasis on collaboration and impact.

Qualifications

• Must have a Master’s degree or higher from an accredited school of Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or Marriage, Family and Child Counseling.
• Active license in Pennsylvania to independently deliver mental health care (LCSW, LMHC, LMFT, LPC, PsyD, etc.).
• Experience with CBT, DBT, ACT, solution-focused therapy, and/or motivational interviewing.
• Experience delivering care via tele-health.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent care, including mental health assessments and teletherapy, to middle and high school students in partner districts (2–4 months per student, extendable to 6 months).
• Participate in case discussions with other Cartwheel team members.
• Support students and families with transition to community mental health and primary care providers.
• Build collaborative relationships with school leadership, staff, students, and families; meet regularly to discuss needs and improve school services.
