Job summary

Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW) seeks a patient services coordinator to support registration and scheduling across multiple specialties. You will guide patients to obtain appointments at convenient locations, assist with insurance setup, and ensure accurate documentation within MCW’s scheduling systems.

The role emphasizes strong customer service, effective communication, and competency with EPIC. A High School Diploma and 2 years’ experience are preferred, with hybrid work opportunities for

Qualifications

• Customer service orientation and ability to handle inquiries with empathy and efficiency.
• Strong computer skills and typing speed (≥20 wpm).
• Knowledge of medical terminology is highly advantageous.
• Understanding of insurance terminology and verification processes.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; able to convey information clearly.
• Ability to organize resources and retrieve information quickly.

Responsibilities

• Schedules, cancels and reschedules appointments by phone for multiple specialties and locations.
• Triages calls to determine needs and routes requests to appropriate teams.
• Encourages enrollment in MyChart and Froedtert & MCW App for online access.
• Completes registration and insurance verification for new and existing patients.
• Manages referral queues, faxes, emails, and other scheduling communications.
