Job summary

Medical College of Wisconsin seeks a Patient Scheduling & Registration Specialist to support registration, scheduling, and insurance verification for diverse specialties across MCW locations.

This hybrid role requires strong customer service, detailed knowledge of billing and insurance processes, and proficiency with Epic systems. You will assist patients remotely and onsite in the Milwaukee metro area, ensuring accurate data and smooth patient experiences.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience handling patient inquiries and registrations.
• Strong computer literacy and data-entry speed (≥20 wpm).
• Knowledge of medical terminology is highly beneficial.
• Familiarity with insurance terminology and verification processes.
• Excellent verbal and written communication with patients and staff.
• Ability to organize tasks and manage multiple scheduling queues efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Schedule, cancel and reschedule patient appointments across multiple specialties and locations.
• Triages incoming calls and routes to appropriate teams while providing exceptional service.
• Encourage enrollment in MyChart and MCW app and assist activation.
• Complete patient registrations and verify insurance coverage for new and established patients.
• Process referrals, manage web appointment requests, and communicate with referring physicians as needed.
• Navigate Epic InBasket and email to stay updated on scheduling changes and patient needs.
