Job summary

S&C Electric Company is seeking a skilled Power Systems Engineer to design distribution systems, develop electrical drawings, and lead technical work for projects across the grid modernization spectrum.

You will collaborate with clients and team members, specify equipment, program relays/ controllers, and ensure compliance with industry standards. The role includes remote/hybrid work options and regional travel as projects require.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related technical field and 6–10 years of experience in the field.
Depth of knowledge with SCADA systems and Modbus/DNP3.
Knowledge of NEC, NESC and other power system standards.
Excellent problem solving and communication skills.
Willingness to travel to project and/or customer sites up to 20% of the time.

Responsibilities

Design power distribution system and specify equipment; define scope and client requirements.
Create electrical drawings including one‑line, three‑line, and wiring diagrams.
Produce documentation and communicate with internal/external stakeholders.
Design control sequences and implement them in systems.
Provide technical guidance to project teams and develop standard practices.
Develop settings for microprocessor relays, microgrid controllers, and PLCs; test and commission software and systems.
Interpret and apply standards like NERC, FERC, IEEE, IEC.
