Job summary

Fifth Third Bank seeks an SBA Market Specialist to originate, close and service government-guaranteed small business loans (SBA 7(a)/504, USDA). You will market to prospects, interview applicants and cross-sell other bank services while meeting revenue and loan targets in a defined territory.

You will develop internal and external relationships, coordinate with Middle Office for loan docs, and manage risk to deliver a strong customer experience.

Qualifications

• Extensive knowledge of SBA loan programs and related lending products.
• Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Finance or related field, or 4 years related experience.
• 5+ years commercial banking or sales and underwriting experience.
• Proven track record in external sales and building client relationships.
• Ability to analyze complex financial data for credit decisions.
• Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Achieve targets for annualized loan production within risk tolerance.
• Identify qualified prospects via internal and external sources.
• Market through seminars, direct mail and media advertising.
• Interview applicants to determine qualifications and cross-sell services.
• Coordinate with Business Banking, Retail and Commercial reps to promote lending products.
• Build relationships with gov't and community agencies to promote lending.
• Prepare loan documents in coordination with Middle Office.
• Participate in origination, closing, servicing and liquidation of SBA loans as needed.
• Balance risk and return, monitor charge-offs within the first 12 months.
