Job summary

Varonis is seeking a dynamic Sales Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will blend cloud computing and cybersecurity expertise with a passion for supporting sales in complex environments.

This role emphasizes technical demonstrations, architectural thinking, and strong customer engagements from a remote Austin-based position. You will partner with account teams to translate customer needs into tailored solutions, craft compelling proposals, and stay current on industry trends.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years in a sales engineering or technical pre-sales role, focusing on cloud computing and cybersecurity.
• Strong understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and cybersecurity principles.
• Knowledge of SaaS apps such as Microsoft 365 and Salesforce.
• Experience with data security concepts, IAM, and compliance frameworks.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills to explain complex concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Willingness to travel to support sales activities.
• Strong client-facing relationship skills and a results-oriented mindset.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CCSP, AWS Certified Solutions Architect) are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with sales to understand customer requirements and provide technical solutions.
• Conduct in-depth product demonstrations and presentations to prospective clients highlighting Varonis capabilities.
• Develop and deliver technical proposals with architecture diagrams and implementation plans.
• Advise customers on data security, cloud computing, and cybersecurity best practices.
• Assist in developing sales strategies and account plans to achieve revenue targets.
• Stay current with industry trends and competitive landscape to position Varonis effectively.
• Provide feedback to product management on customer needs and market trends.
• Participate in industry events and webinars to promote Varonis solutions and thought leadership.
• Support and drive sales activity to over-achieve targets.
