Job summary

Encova Insurance is seeking a Safety and Loss Control Consultant to analyze hazards, conduct on-site or remote risk assessments, and provide reports and recommendations to enhance policyholder safety and underwriting decisions.

The role supports loss control across standard to large accounts, mentoring trainees, and working with Underwriting to implement effective hazard controls. A CSP/CIH/ARM/ASP background is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university required; safety/industrial hygiene field preferred.
• Master’s degree in Safety or Industrial Hygiene preferred.
• Two years of safety management or consulting experience preferred.
• Certifications such as CSP, CIH, ARM, ASP preferred.

Responsibilities

• Consult with policyholders to improve occupational safety programs and performance.
• Provide underwriters with information on safety levels of policyholders.
• Evaluate safety programs and worksites for hazards and conditions.
• Conduct basic industrial hygiene testing.
• Research standards and regulations to advise on hazard control.
• Develop cost-effective hazard correction methods.
• Analyze loss information to identify trends and propose solutions.
• Prepare timely reports for underwriting on hazards and controls.
