Job summary

Encova Insurance is seeking a Safety and Loss Control Consultant to conduct loss analysis and field surveys, assessing safety efforts and hazards for policyholders. You will prepare findings and recommendations to support underwriting decisions, mentor trainees, and participate in policyholder training sessions with Senior Consultants.

Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor’s in safety or related field (Master’s preferred), CSP/CIH/ARM/ASP credentials are a plus, and you should be able to work

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in safety, industrial hygiene, engineering or related field required.
• Master’s degree in Safety or Industrial Hygiene preferred.
• Two years of occupational safety management/consulting experience preferred.
• Professional safety credentials (CSP, CIH, ARM, ASP) preferred.
• Knowledge of OSHA, MSHA, DOT and NFPA standards.

Responsibilities

• Consult policyholders to improve safety programs and performance.
• Provide information on policyholder safety levels to underwriters.
• Evaluate safety programs and work sites for hazards.
• Conduct simple Industrial Hygiene testing.
• Research standards and laws to provide effective solutions.
• Develop cost-effective methods to correct hazards.
• Analyze loss information to identify accident trends and propose improvements.
• Prepare timely reports on hazards and control effectiveness for underwriting.
