Job summary

Encova Insurance is seeking a Safety and Loss Control Consultant to perform loss analysis and field surveys, assessing policyholder safety efforts and identifying hazards. You will prepare reports with recommendations to management and support underwriting with risk assessments.

The role covers standard to large accounts, mentoring trainees, and collaboration with underwriting to control hazards across property, liability, workers’ compensation, and auto/fleet lines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university required.
• Master’s degree in Safety or Industrial Hygiene preferred.
• Two years of safety management or safety consulting experience preferred.
• Certifications CSP, CIH, ARM, ASP are preferred.
• Knowledge of OSHA, MSHA, DOT, NFPA standards.
• Valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Consult with policyholders to improve occupational safety programs and performance.
• Provide underwriters with information on policyholder safety levels.
• Evaluate safety programs and worksites for hazards.
• Conduct simple Industrial Hygiene testing.
• Research standards and regulations to propose effective solutions.
• Develop cost-effective methods to correct hazards.
