Orbit, GitLab's Rust-first backend team for the Knowledge Graph service, is seeking an Intermediate Backend Engineer to build and operate analytics-driven graph capabilities across SDLC data. You will contribute to the query engine, data indexing, and API endpoints with a focus on reliability and scalability.

Qualificações

• Proficient in backend development with reliability and maintainability in production.
• Interest in Rust and ability to ramp quickly in a Rust-first codebase.
• Exposure to distributed data or analytics systems is a plus.
• Interest in graph data modeling and knowledge graph concepts.

Responsabilidades

• Implement and iterate on backend features in the Knowledge Graph service, including query engine and API endpoints.
• Maintain integrations between Knowledge Graph and the broader platform (Rails, Data Insights Platform, and Duo Agent Platform).
• Contribute to system design discussions focused on reliability, scalability, and maintainability of analytical workloads.
• Improve operability with metrics, logging, runbooks, alerts, and participate in on-call rotations as appropriate.
• Collaborate across product, data, infrastructure, security, and AI teams to ship safe, scalable features.
