KODE Health in the United States is seeking a Senior Ruby on Rails Engineer to help revolutionize healthcare software. You will build robust Rails applications, mentor juniors, and advance AI-powered features that improve medical coding and revenue cycles.

This fully remote role requires strong Ruby on Rails fundamentals, HTML/CSS/JS, and a pragmatic approach to testing, deployment, and collaboration with product and design teams.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, including 3+ years building and maintaining production Ruby on Rails applications.
• Strong Ruby and Rails fundamentals, relational data modeling, SQL, and PostgreSQL or a comparable relational database.
• Experience creating user interfaces with HTML, CSS, JavaScript; Hotwire preferred; React/Angular also valuable.

Responsibilities

• Partner with product managers to understand user needs and define successful outcomes.
• Write and maintain PRDs, implementation plans, estimates, and release plans with the team.
• Build and improve Ruby on Rails features across the application, including data models and integrations.
• Develop and enhance user-facing AI agents, their behavior, integrations, tests.
• Create consistent interfaces using the Claude Design system and reuse components.
• Write automated tests, review code, and verify behavior post-release.
• Plan safe deployments and monitor for issues; improve processes using AI insights.
