Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software development experience with a focus on backend development.
• Strong proficiency in Ruby on Rails, Python, or equivalent object-oriented backend language.
• Experience leading technical designs and multi-person engineering projects end-to-end.
• Strong SQL skills and familiarity with PostgreSQL.
• Actively uses AI coding tools and iterates on prompts to get high-quality outputs.

Responsibilities

• Write, review, and optimize production-ready code daily with high code quality.
• Lead technical design reviews and produce designs as primary author.
• Use AI tools to support design, evaluation, and delivery while ensuring security standards.
• Mentor junior engineers through code reviews and pairing.
• Build scalable backend services in Rails, managing provider-facing APIs across lifecycle.
• Coordinate multi-sprint projects and align stakeholders.
• Own on-call incidents and post-incident root cause analyses.
