Job summary

McKesson Corporation in Irving, TX is seeking a Software Engineer to design, develop, test, and maintain web-based healthcare software using Ruby on Rails, TypeScript, and Node.js for the back end, and React/Angular/Vue for the front end.

You will work across front-end and back-end, write clean, maintainable code, ensure HIPAA compliance, design features and APIs, write unit and integration tests with RSpec or Minitest, and optimize queries in PostgreSQL, MySQL, and MS SQL Server.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in CS or related field required.
• 7+ years in full-stack software development.
• Experience with Ruby on Rails.
• Front-end experience with React/TypeScript/Node.js.
• Building RESTful and GraphQL APIs with Rails.
• Experience with PostgreSQL/MySQL/MSSQL databases.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain web-based healthcare software using RoR/TypeScript/Node.js back end and React/Angular/Vue front end.
• Contribute across front-end and back-end with project-driven balance.
• Write clean, maintainable code and ensure HIPAA compliance.
• Design and implement features, APIs, and background services.
• Write unit/integration/functional tests (RSpec/Minitest).
• Optimize SQL queries for PostgreSQL/MySQL/MSSQL.
• Build secure, scalable RESTful services and review code.
• Troubleshoot production issues and drive performance improvements.
• Collaborate with product, design, and engineering in Agile teams.
