Alignerr is seeking a Ruby Software Engineer (AI Training) for an fully remote hourly contract. You will contribute to backend services, review AI-generated Ruby code, and help shape data used to train and evaluate AI coding tools. The role suits engineers who thrive in asynchronous, independent environments.

We expect 2+ years of professional experience, strong Ruby skills, and a solid grasp of APIs and software architecture. Remote, flexible, contract-based work with 10–40 hours per week.

• 2+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong proficiency in Ruby and backend development in production environments.
• Understanding of APIs, data-driven systems, and software architecture.

Responsabilités

• Develop and maintain backend services and APIs using Ruby and Ruby-based frameworks.
• Review and analyze AI-generated Ruby code for correctness, performance, and maintainability.
• Evaluate software scenarios and provide structured, expert-level feedback.
• Help create and validate technical datasets used in AI training and evaluation workflows.
• Collaborate asynchronously with researchers and engineers to improve AI reasoning about code.
• Identify bugs, edge cases, and suboptimal patterns in AI-produced codebases.
