Job summary

Bright Vision Technologies is seeking a Robotics Software Engineer for a 100% remote role in the U.S. The position focuses on designing, building, and integrating software for autonomous robots across the full stack.

You will work with ROS/ROS 2, C++, Python, and real-time systems, collaborating with product, engineering, and operations to deliver robust, production-ready solutions and mentor junior engineers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Robotics, CS, EE, or related field.
• 6+ years of robotics software engineering experience.
• Strong programming in C++ and Python.
• Hands-on ROS/ROS 2 experience in production projects.
• Experience with perception, localization, motion planning, or control.
• Sensor fusion and Kalman/particle filter techniques.
• Experience with Gazebo, Isaac Sim, MuJoCo.
• Strong debugging and documentation skills.
• Experience supporting field tests and hardware integration.

Responsibilities

• Develop robotics software in C++ and Python with real-time performance.
• Design and integrate sensor data pipelines (cameras, LiDAR, IMUs).
• Implement perception, localization, and mapping including SLAM and sensor fusion.
• Develop motion planning and trajectory generation respecting constraints.
• Integrate ROS/ROS 2 with hardware and embedded systems.
• Contribute to safety-critical patterns and testing.
• Build simulation environments (Gazebo, Isaac Sim).
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and document software architecture.
