Job summary

Guidant Financial is seeking a Retirement Plan Operations Specialist to learn and administer 401(k) plans, test and report on them, including year-end government filings. You will progress from document review to handling basic plans with accelerated training and practical experience.

You will educate clients about plan administration while supporting nationwide entrepreneurs from a remote role with ESOP-minded culture and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Experience with document review and transaction processing as daily responsibilities.
• 1–5 years in adjacent back-office financial operations such as benefits administration or tax processing.
• Proficiency with Excel, Word and Outlook for daily tasks.
• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in business/finance or equivalent work experience preferred.
• Basic knowledge of 401(k) plan structure, ROBS, and IRS/DOL regulations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work with clients to obtain information for annual reporting.
• Review documents for completeness and accuracy.
• Reconcile plans with rollovers and plan stock using Excel/administration software.
• Use administration software to perform 401(k) testing and reporting.
• Make reminder calls and send emails during plan year reporting.
• Prepare 401(k) government filings including IRS Form 5500.
• Educate clients on 401(k) plan administration and documents.
