Job summary
Guidant Financial is seeking a Retirement Plan Operations Specialist to join our fully remote team and support entrepreneurs nationwide. You will learn the end-to-end process of administering, testing, and reporting on 401(k) plans, advancing from document review to basic plan administration through hands-on training.
You will review client documents, keep clients informed, and assist with year-end filings including the 5500 form.
Qualifications
- Experience in document review and transaction processing in finance-related ops.
- 1–5 years in back-office financial operations such as benefits or compliance support.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Direct retirement-plan operations experience preferred (401(k)/IRA).
- Experience with reconciliation preferred.
- Degree in business/finance or equivalent work experience preferred.
- Basic knowledge of 401(k) plan structure and IRS/DOL regulations preferred.
Responsibilities
- Work with clients to obtain information for annual reporting.
- Review documents for completeness and accuracy.
- Reconcile plans using Excel and administration software.
- Complete 401(k) testing and reporting with software.
- Make reminder calls and send emails during the plan year.
- Prepare 401(k) filings including IRS Form 5500.
- Educate clients on 401(k) plan administration.
