Job summary

Guidant Financial is seeking a Retirement Plan Operations Specialist to learn the full lifecycle of administering, testing and reporting on 401(k) plans. Through accelerated training, you will progress from document review to handling basic plan administration and year-end filings, including the 5500 report.

You will review client documents, keep clients updated on progress, and utilize Excel and filing software to perform testing and government filings.

Qualifications

• 1–5 years of adjacent back-office financial operations experience.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Associate or bachelor’s degree in business or finance, or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Work with clients to obtain information to prepare annual reporting.
• Review client documents for completeness and accuracy.
• Reconcile plans with rollovers and plan stock using Excel and administration software.
• Use administration software to complete 401(k) testing and reporting.
• Make reminder calls and send emails during the plan year reporting process.
• Prepare 401(k) government filings, including IRS Form 5500.
