Job summary

Guidant Financial is hiring for a Retirement Plan Operations Specialist to learn the full process of administering 401(k) plans from document review to year-end reporting. This remote role supports clients nationwide and offers accelerated training with a path to growth.

You will review documents, perform testing and reporting, and help clients understand filing requirements. A relevant degree and back-office finance experience are preferred, with strong Excel skills and reliable home office

Qualifications

• Experience with document review and transaction processing.
• 1–5 years of adjacent back-office financial operations.
• Proficiency in using Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Experience with 401(k) or IRA administration preferred.
• Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Basic knowledge of 401(k) plan structure, IRS/DOL regulations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work with clients to obtain information to prepare the annual reporting.
• Review documents for completeness and accuracy; reconcile plans using Excel and administration software.
• Utilize administration software to complete 401(k) testing and reporting.
• Make outgoing reminder calls and emails to clients during the plan year.
• Prepare required 401(k) plan government filings, including IRS Form 5500.
• Educate clients regarding the administration of their 401(k) plan.
