Job summary

Guidant Financial is hiring a Retirement Plan Operations Specialist to join our fully remote team. You will learn the end-to-end process of administering, testing, and reporting on 401(k) plans, progressing from document review to handling basic plan administration with client updates and year-end filings.

You'll gain hands-on experience with 5500 filings, Excel-based reconciliations, and essential government reporting.

Qualifications

• Experience in document review and transaction processing.
• Proficiency in reconciliation as a daily responsibility.
• Direct retirement-plan operations experience is preferred.
• Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in business or finance preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work with clients to obtain necessary information to prepare the annual reporting.
• Review documents submitted by clients for completeness and accuracy.
• Reconcile plans with only rollovers and plan stock using Excel and administration software.
• Utilize administration software to complete 401(k) testing and reporting.
• Make outgoing reminder calls and send emails to clients during the plan year reporting process.
• Prepare required 401(k) plan government filings, including the IRS Form 5500, using filing software.
• Educate clients regarding the administration of their 401(k) plan and 401(k) plan documents.
