Job summary

Supabase is seeking a Release Engineer (SRE) to join the Release Engineering team within EngOps. You will treat deployment pipelines and the control plane as production systems, with SLOs, error budgets, and on-call ownership.

You’ll standardize deployment practices, instrument what we ship, and build automated runbooks to reduce toil, while collaborating across teams to improve reliability and observability.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in SRE, production operations, platform engineering, or release engineering.
• Experience operating production systems at scale and carrying on-call.
• Fluency with SLAs, SLOs, error budgets, and observability tooling (Prometheus, Grafana, Alertmanager).
• Experience with incident response, blameless postmortems, and automation to reduce toil.
• Proficiency with AWS, Kubernetes, and infrastructure-as-code (Pulumi, Terraform).
• Strong communication with infra and product engineers.

Responsibilities

• Own the reliability of deployment and release systems with clear SLOs and error budgets.
• Standardize deployment workflows and instrument what we ship.
• Drive disaster-recovery readiness and reproducible environments.
• Build and operate health and SLO monitoring for critical user flows.
• Reduce MTTD/MTTR for deploy-related incidents.
• Participate in on-call, lead blameless postmortems, and turn findings into runbooks.
