Job summary

Merck seeks a Regional Medical Scientific Director (PhD/MD/DO/DNP) to be a disease expert who exchanges scientific information with Scientific Leaders. The role covers IN, KY, WV, and VA, with travel up to 50% and a flexible remote arrangement.

You will lead scientific exchanges, guide investigator-sponsored research, and support scientific congress activities while maintaining current knowledge of the AOI and regulatory guidelines.

Qualifications

• PhD, PharmD, DNP, DO or MD required.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant therapeutic area experience beyond the degree program.
• Ability to conduct doctoral-level discussions with external stakeholders.
• Dedication to scientific excellence with strong education and dialogue.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develops professional relationships with national/regional SLs for access to approved medical information.
• Conducts peer-to-peer scientific discussions and maintains a medical contact within the company.
• Addresses scientific questions and directs SL inquiries to appropriate resources.
• Maintains current knowledge of dynamic scientific and clinical environment in AOI.
• Leads protocol discussions with GCTO and supports investigator-sponsored research efforts.
• Engages in scientific congresses and medical meetings to exchange data.
