Job summary

Merck seeks a Regional Medical Scientific Director to serve as a disease expert driving scientific exchange and research across the US territory. The role supports scientific congress activities, responds to inquiries from Scientific Leaders, and coordinates with GCSA/GCTO to align trials and investigator-initiated studies.

Candidates must reside within the territory (IN, KY, WV, VA) and be prepared for up to 50% travel; a terminal degree is required and a strong track record in oncology or

Qualifications

• PhD, PharmD, DNP, DO, or MD required.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant therapeutic area experience beyond terminal degree.
• Ability to conduct doctoral-level discussions with external stakeholders.
• Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and networking skills.
• Strong knowledge of FDA, OIG, HIPAA, and related guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Engages in Scientific Exchange with national and regional SLs to share approved information.
• Initiates discussions with SLs and investigators to align with research strategies.
• Gathers feedback to inform medical affairs strategy and patient needs.
• Supports scientific congresses and meetings with data exchange.
• Ensures compliance with GCP, SOPs, and ethical guidelines.
