Job summary
Merck & Co. is seeking a Regional Medical Scientific Director (PhD/MD/DNP) to engage in scholarly exchange with Scientific Leaders across the US territory IN, KY, WV, and VA.
The role emphasizes scientific information sharing on company-related areas and supports investigator-sponsored studies and company-sponsored trials. The candidate will liaise between the scientific community and the company, oversee protocol leadership with GCTO, and travel up to 50% within the region while maintaining
Qualifications
- PhD, PharmD, DNP, DO, or MD required.
- Proven competence with at least 3 years of relevant therapeutic area experience beyond the terminal degree.
- Ability to conduct doctoral-level discussions with external stakeholders.
- Strong knowledge of FDA, OIG, HIPAA, and other ethical guidelines for pharma industry.
Responsibilities
- Engages in bidirectional scientific information exchange with Scientific Leaders (SLs).
- Supports scientific exchange, research, congress activities and insights.
- Initiates discussions with SLs and investigators to align with research strategies and study concepts.
- Leads Site Initiation Visits (SIVs) and identifies sites and investigators for clinical programs.
- Represents the company at scientific congresses and supports data exchange.
