Job summary

Foundation Fighting Blindness seeks a Development Manager to drive fundraising and community leadership across Houston and San Antonio. This remote role partners with volunteers, donors, and local partners to grow revenue and deepen engagement, while communicating scientific progress accessibly.

You will lead events, manage volunteer leaders, track engagement in a donor CRM, and collaborate with internal teams to achieve annual goals and long-term growth in the Texas region.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of fundraising or nonprofit development experience.
• Proven success meeting or exceeding revenue goals.
• Strong relationship-building with volunteers, donors, and partners.
• Experience recruiting and supporting volunteer leaders.
• Comfortable as a public-facing representative in communities.
• Excellent organization and multitasking across a territory.
• Experience using donor databases/CRM to track engagement and run reports.
• Ability to explain scientific information accessibly to various audiences.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute fundraising strategies to grow revenue year over year.
• Build and maintain relationships with volunteers, donors, local businesses, sponsors, and partners.
• Collaborate with volunteer committees to plan and execute events.
• Set priorities and measures of success with regional leadership.
• Recruit, support, and motivate volunteer leaders.
• Represent the Foundation in the community, sharing resources and progress.
• Use donor database to track engagement and inform fundraising decisions.
• Tailor approaches to community strengths to grow chapters.
• Manage materials and resources for events.
• Explain the Foundation's work in accessible terms to families.
