Job summary

Abbott Laboratories seeks a Team Lead TSS to oversee a regional team of Technical Support Specialists responsible for installation, maintenance, and performance improvement of Core Diagnostics instruments across Africa. You will drive service excellence, coach field engineers, and collaborate with Sales, Applications, and Service teams to ensure exemplary customer outcomes.

Based in the Western Cape with travel across Africa and the EMEA region, you will report to the Support Services division,

Qualifications

Minimum of tertiary qualification in a technical discipline and relevant leadership experience.
Experience leading technical teams in diagnostics or medical devices.
Proven track record in field service, installations and preventive maintenance.
Strong customer-facing experience with laboratory and healthcare customers.

Responsibilities

Lead, coach, and develop a team of Technical Support Specialists across Africa.
Drive service performance using KPIs (First Time Fix Rate, MTTR, NPS).
Coordinate installations, upgrades, and preventive maintenance activities.
Provide pre-installation assessments and technical planning for new placements.
Collaborate with Sales, Applications, Service and Commercial teams to ensure customer value.
Travel across Africa to support regional service delivery and improvements.
