Job summary

US Foods is seeking a Mechanical Engineer - Refrigeration to lead design, analysis, and support of industrial NH3/CO2/Freon refrigeration systems across the enterprise. You will drive safety, reliability, and energy efficiency while aligning with PSM/RMP requirements.

The role is remote in the United States (excluding Hawaii and territories) with travel to distribution centers as needed; you will partner with Operations, Facilities, EHS, and Capital Engineering to deliver capital projects,

Qualifications

5+ years of experience in industrial refrigeration with NH3 systems.
Hands-on experience with NH3 and Freon-based systems.
Familiarity with PSM and RMP compliance.
Willingness to travel >25%.
Ability to interpret P&IDs and engineering documentation.

Responsibilities

Design, review, and support industrial refrigeration systems utilizing ammonia, CO2, and Freon refrigerants.
Develop and maintain engineering standards, specifications, and system documentation.
Evaluate system performance and recommend improvements to safety, reliability, and energy efficiency.
Provide technical support for troubleshooting and root cause analysis of refrigeration system issues.
Support capital projects, commissioning, startup, and system acceptance activities.
Partner with Facilities and Maintenance to develop maintenance strategies and SOPs.
