Job summary

US Foods is seeking a Mechanical Engineer - Refrigeration to design, analyze and optimize industrial refrigeration systems across the enterprise, with ammonia, CO2 and Freon expertise. The role supports safety, reliability and energy efficiency, and involves collaboration with Design, Construction, Facilities, and Operations teams.

This remote position requires travel to sites as needed, and offers an annual incentive plan and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 5+ years of experience in industrial refrigeration.
• PE license or EIT certification.
• Hands-on NH3 and CO2 refrigeration experience.
• Ability to travel to operating sites as needed.

Responsibilities

• Design, review, and support industrial refrigeration systems using ammonia, CO2 and Freon refrigerants.
• Develop and maintain engineering standards, specifications, and system documentation.
• Support Process Safety Management (PSM) and Risk Management Plan (RMP) requirements.
• Provide engineering input for capital projects, expansions, and retrofits.
• Offer field engineering support during outages, repairs, and emergencies.
