Job summary

US Foods is seeking a Mechanical Engineer - Refrigeration to design, analyze, and optimize industrial refrigeration systems across the enterprise, with ammonia, CO2 and Freon expertise, ensuring safe operation, reliability, and energy efficiency.

This remote role covers capital projects, maintenance support, and regulatory compliance (PSM/RMP, OSHA/EPA). It requires 5 years in industrial refrigeration, a Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering (PE/EIT preferred), and travel more than 25%.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in industrial refrigeration with NH3 and Freon exposure.
• Strong knowledge of PSM and RMP compliance.
• Experience troubleshooting and root cause analysis in industrial refrigeration.
• Capital projects experience including upgrades and commissioning.
• Ability to travel to operating sites (>25%).

Responsibilities

• Design, review, and support industrial refrigeration systems.
• Develop and maintain engineering standards and documentation.
• Support PS&A compliance and audits.
• Provide field engineering support during outages and repairs.
• Collaborate with Design and Construction teams to set standards.
