Job summary

US Foods is seeking a Mechanical Engineer - Refrigeration to design, analyze, and optimize industrial refrigeration systems across our network in the United States. You’ll work with NH3, CO2, and Freon, ensuring safe operation, compliance, reliability, and energy efficiency.

The role is remote in the United States with travel to distribution centers, supporting safety programs, capital projects, and ongoing maintenance.

Qualifications

5+ years in industrial refrigeration with NH3 and Freon systems.
Experience with OSHA PSM and EPA RMP compliance.
Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills.
Ability to travel to multiple sites (>25%).
Experience supporting capital projects and upgrades.

Responsibilities

Design, review, and support industrial refrigeration systems using NH3, CO2, and Freon.
Develop engineering standards and maintain system documentation.
Evaluate performance and recommend improvements for safety and efficiency.
Provide technical support for troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
Collaborate with Design and Construction to set design standards.
Support Process Safety Management and regulatory compliance.
Provide engineering support for capital projects, expansions, and retrofits.
Develop maintenance strategies and SOPs with Facilities teams.
Travel to distribution centers as needed.
