Job summary

US Foods is seeking a Mechanical Engineer - Refrigeration to design, analyze, and optimize industrial refrigeration systems across the enterprise. You will support NH3, CO2, and Freon systems, ensuring safe operation, regulatory compliance, reliability, and energy efficiency for operations.

This remote role travels to sites as needed and collaborates with Design, Facilities, and EHS teams. The position requires 5+ years in industrial refrigeration, with strong experience in ammonia and Freon

Qualifications

5+ years of experience in industrial refrigeration with hands-on NH3 systems
Expertise in ammonia and Freon refrigeration engineering
Strong knowledge of PSM and RMP compliance requirements
Experience with capital projects including commissioning and optimization
Willingness to travel >25% to operating sites

Responsibilities

Design, review, and support industrial refrigeration systems using NH3, CO2 and Freon refrigerants
Develop and maintain engineering standards, specifications, and system documentation
Evaluate system performance and implement improvements for safety, reliability, and efficiency
Provide technical support for troubleshooting and root cause analysis of refrigeration issues
Partner with Design, Construction, Operations, and EHS teams to ensure compliant design standards
