Global Impact Group LLC is seeking Sylheti Over-the-Phone Interpreters (OPI) to support our USCIS contract. The role requires native or near-native Sylheti and English, and 2+ years of professional interpreting experience, with a focus on immigration contexts.

This is a remote position using USCIS-approved platforms. Competitive pay ($30–$38/hour) includes a rare-language premium, with paid training and opportunities for growth within the federal contract.

Qualifications

• Native or near-native fluency in Sylheti and English.
• 2+ years of professional interpreting experience (immigration/government preferred).
• Strong ethics, confidentiality, and cultural sensitivity.
• Excellent communication skills and accuracy under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Provide real-time Sylheti English telephonic interpretation for USCIS interviews, hearings, and official proceedings.
• Interpret accurately, impartially, and professionally in immigration and asylum contexts.
• Maintain strict confidentiality in compliance with USCIS/DHS interpreter standards.
• Manage both scheduled assignments and urgent/surge calls.
• Participate in training, compliance refreshers, and quality assurance reviews.
